General Election Candidates for 2015

Norwich South: Councillor Lesley Grahame

Councillor Lesley Grahame represents the Thorpe Hamlet ward in Norwich South and was initially elected in 2010. She was recently re-elected in the 2014 city council elections with a higher vote. Lesley works part-time as a district nurse and is involved in many community organisations such as Transition Norwich, Norwich Farmshare, Quakers and Hate-free Norfolk.

Lesley performed a great deal of work in her ward and in Norwich South. Along with the Thope Hamlet team she has saved Wensum Lodge Sports Hall, provided a large contribution to the Green Party work in ending late-night violence in Norwich's clubland through the Stakeholders' Forums and completed many a piece of individual case work.

Upon her selection as a parliamentary candidate this year, Lesley said: "I am thrilled to have been selected as the candidate in Norwich South and I can think of no greater honour than to represent Norwich South in Westminster. I am thankful for the trust put in me to carry on the great green work that has taken place and carry this momentum into the general election."

The Norwich Green Party enters into the 2015 election having, alongside Labour, secured 35% of the vote in the constiuency in the local city elections. Lesley Grahame is a strong, local voice and represents a very real opportunity for Norwich to send a Green MP to parliament in 2015.
