Ben represents the busy and varied ward of Thorpe Hamlet. This area of the city includes the Cathedral, Carrow road and Prince of Wales Road. Ben has been a member of the Licensing Committee for two years and has been instrumental in developing the Stakeholders' Forum, a Green Party initiative with the aim to improve the late night economy and reduce antisocial behaviour in the city.

He has developed the Gardenshare project, has organised a river tidy and managed the Green Party working group which has called for the reintroduction of the Tree planting budget at City Hall. As well as Councillor for Thorpe Hamlet, Ben is a self employed gardener, a Master Composter and has studied Horticulture to National diploma standard. He has an allotment and is a founder member of the Norwich Allotment Association. He is also a proud father to a young son.

Amongst other committees, he is also a member of the Mousehold Conservators, which has allowed him to help develop council polices to improve the management and bio diversity of one of the most precious green spaces in Norwich. A keen cyclist, he is involved with the development and consultations process of the City's cycle improvement scheme, Push the Pedalways.
