Fly tipping affects everyone in the community, especially in more densely populated areas, such as flats with communal bins like those within Mile Cross. Alex Catt, Green Party councillor, said “We know these areas are so often targeted by non-residents driving in to dump rubbish. With 6 of the 10 worst-affected areas falling within Mile Cross. I was shocked to be told that the Labour-run council has no specific enforcement policy for fly-tipping.
Your local Green Party volunteers are out regularly reporting fly tipping around the city to make our area more pleasant for everyone. The more it is reported, the more the council has to take action.
