As demolition work begins, the Labour-led council has serious questions to answer on how many of the 1,100 homes will be delivered for social rent. The city’s housing crisis is out of control and new council homes are so desperately needed. Labour’s claims are confusing. In recent elections they told voters there would be ‘at least 50% social housing’, but now it’s ‘affordable’ housing and only for the first 353 homes!
